Wearables Care Guide

Our brand new wearables collection has arrived. Like the rest of our sheepskin range, these pieces are easy care and made to be worn often. Store all pieces out of direct sunlight to keep them looking their best.

The Sheepskin Vest

Dry clean only. Between wears, give it a good shake and hang it up. That's usually all it needs.

For spills, blot gently with a dry or slightly damp cloth, no rubbing. Shake off any loose dirt once it's dry. Avoid washing, tumble drying, bleaching or ironing, and keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight.


If you're unsure, take it to a specialist cleaner.

The Bucket Hat

Avoid getting the outer suede wet or caught in the rain. If it does get damp, let it air dry naturally.

Avoid hair dryers, radiators, or direct sunlight. Brush the wool gently with a soft-bristle brush to remove loose dirt, and blot any stains with a dry cloth.

The Unisex Slippers

Designed for indoor use. Spot clean any spills on the wool with a dry cloth, no rubbing.

If they've gotten damp, sprinkle baking soda inside, leave overnight, then shake out. Keep out of direct sunlight. Over time they'll mould to your feet, making them extra special and comfy.

Not wearing them for a while? Stuff with tissue paper to help keep their shape.

The Crossbody Phone Bag

Spills? Don't panic. Liquid sits on top and won't sink in. Shake off what you can, then blot gently with a kitchen towel.

No rubbing. Dab with a wet cloth if needed. Dry in the shade.

Antimicrobial
Antimicrobial

Sheepskins are naturally antimicrobial and hypoallergenic. That’s because the fibres contain lanolin, a naturally occurring wax that is both antibacterial and antifungal. It keeps itself clean and is safe to live on, its truly a magical fibre.

Thermoregulatory

To survive New Zealand’s harsh climate, a sheep’s fleece needs to protect them in freezing winters (-10°C) and keep them cool in our scorching summers (+30°C).

Fire Resistant
Fire Resistant

A tanned sheepskin is resistant to short-term exposure to fire with temperatures up to 200°C. This means if you take a lighter, turn it on and hold it against a sheepskin, the sheepskin will start to shrink and curl but won’t catch fire or continue to burn. This makes it safe around fireplaces and outdoor fires as well as a much better alternative to synthetics, which melt under high heat and give off toxic fumes.

Eat, drink and be merry on your sheepskin product. Naturally occurring lanolin on the fibre creates a protective barrier, preventing water from penetrating deep into the fibres. It resists soiling and releases dirt easily, making it naturally dirt-repellent. If you do spill something on your sheepskin product, it usually only requires a gentle blot.

At the end of its useful life, sheepskin will naturally decompose. You don’t need to worry about it sitting in landfill for generations to come.

Did you know that wool is stronger than steel, gram for gram? It’s the only unprocessed fibre that you can bend more than 20,000 times and still have it maintain its shape without ripping or breaking, which means you don’t need to be precious with your sheepskin product.
