Shipping Estimator

Treated with basic care, your Shaggy Bean Bag will withstand a lifetime of use.

Our Five Golden Rules for Shaggy Bean Bags:

  1. Give it a shake. This will bring back the bounce to the fibre.
  2. Dry vacuum your bean bag regularly with a plain suction unit.
  3. Blot up spills and stains immediately, do not rub the wool pile.
  4. Avoid direct sunlight. This stops UV damage or fading of darker shaded products.
  5. Top up your beans every couple of years if you like your bean bag plump like we do.

Please read our Care Instructions and Stain Removal Guide for more information.

Often described by our customers as ‘life-changing’, The Shaggy Bean Bag redefines lounging.

The Shaggy Bean Bag is made from eight sheepskins seamlessly sewn together, with a 100% cow hide non-slip base which keeps the bag firmly in position as you sit down.

The Shaggy Bean Bag is filled with 320 litres of microbeans which provide enough support for people of all shapes and sizes to comfortably sit, while also allowing for enough flexibility to mould to your desired body position.

With an approximate weight of 16kgs, our Shaggy Bean Bags can be easily moved around the home. And while we often drag ours outside on a sunny day, they will not withstand moisture so be mindful to not place on wet surfaces.

If you want to take it to the next level, pair with our Footstool.

Modern and sleek, our short wool pile is a style chameleon.

Short Wool

Our Short Wool sheepskin rugs are shorn to a uniform 17mm pile length and resist dyed, leaving the wool with a beautiful two tone, marble like finish. Modern and sleek, it adds texture and subtle character to your interior.

Shaggy

Our Shaggy Wool pile celebrates the wild charm of sheepskin and is deeply satisfying to touch. It is typically sourced from a sheep that is less than 12 months old. The wool most likely has not been shorn by the farmer and still has the original soft wool tip. Usually these skins are around 40mm in fibre length. This wool is reasonably uniform as it has not endured the harsh conditions of years out in the elements. With its soft texture and depth of colour, it provides contrast and interest to interiors while making surfaces more comfortable. Pile length is typically 40-50mm.

Extra Shaggy

Extra Shaggy Wool is our most luxurious pile length. This range is a celebration of the innate characteristics of wool in its purest form - preserving the natural curl and growth of unshorn sheepskin. The pile length can vary between 60-80mm, depending on the natural growth of the fleece. Plush and silky to touch, these rugs are ideal for spaces needing texture, warmth, or an extra layer of interest.

Approximately 320 litres.

AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND
Shaggy Bean Bags will be shipped prefilled, however the beans do compress over time and topping up is recommended. We don't currently sell beans separately, but we have partnered with Ambient Lounge to offer a 15% discount on your first top up by using the code WILSONDORSET at checkout. For the best experience, we recommend the Premium Ultra-Bean (100% recyclable, high-density beans, available in Australia) or the Premium Bean Filling (for our New Zealand customers). Alternatively, Ecobeans are another great option.

REST OF WORLD
Due to the increased volume (and therefore cost) of the Shaggy Bean Bag when it is filled, we ship international orders unfilled. We do not yet have a directory for bean bag filler internationally, but we understand they are commonly found in DIY and larger craft stores. If you are looking for an online supplier, searching 'bean bag filler' should give you a number of options. You will need about 320 litres to fill your Shaggy Bean Bag.

You’re welcome to use alternative fillers at your discretion, but please note that this may affect the signature feel of your Shaggy Bean Bag.
There are between 8 to 10 skins in a Shaggy Bean Bag.
