We look at how renown Australian interiors stylist Steve Cordony used Wilson & Dorset sheepskins to
style Range Rover house in Thredbo, and how you can use these same principles in your own home.

An invitation to pause
Great interior styling isn’t just about the look of a space, it’s how it connects all the items in a room together seamlessly and creates the right mood. It also gives subtle clues on how to use the space – where to sit, relax and enjoy a room. Steve used Wilson & Dorset throws, cushions and stone sets to invite guests to sit, talk and relax in the comfort and warmth of the living room at the chalet.
A tonal palette
Inspired by the beauty of the surrounding alpine environment, Steve employed a minimal elegant palette of neutral tones and natural colours to elevate each space. Using the creamy warm shades of Wilson & Dorset throws, Steve complimented the existing palette of the chalet with it’s white linen sofas, stone fireplace, light natural timbers, cool grey stone benches and side tables. When decorating your home, think about connecting to the location you live and the colours of nature. Utilising a restrained tonal palette immediately creates a high-end but cozy aesthetic.
Layering with natural textures
Where possible try to use lots of natural materials in your living spaces. Linen or cotton covered sofas, chairs or coffee tables in light timbers or natural stone, and woven wicker baskets or planters all bring warmth into a space. Using Wilson & Dorset woolly goodness, Steve added an immediate heavier texture to the furniture. This not only gave the room a cozier layered look, it created a sense of luxe warmth that is immediate when you enter a room.

Hardworking natural beauty
Wilson & Dorset pieces aren’t designed for just one space but are wonderfully multi-functional. Steve utilised sheepskin pieces not only to dress sofas and benches in the living room, he added warmth to outdoor seating areas, made dining chairs ultra-comfortable for bespoke dinners and softened each room with selected pieces adding natural style.

The power of touch
Each texture that was added to Range Rover House needed to feel tactile, luxe and cozy. Using a natural product such as Wilson & Dorset sheepskin, Steve added immediate comfort to each room. Guests felt relaxed once they felt the natural texture and warmth of wool. Placing sheepskins in your home immediately creates a luxurious texture which is calming and comforting when you touch or lie on it.

Steve Cordony has given a masterclass in taking inspiration from your surroundings to create a warm and cosy elevated interior. By layering natural materials and using a simple neutral palette, you can create a relaxed home which you’ll never want to leave.
